Emily Schuler

My name is Emily and I am currently a student in Tampa, Florida. I grew up in Clearwater, Florida, where I developed a passion for the ocean and marine wildlife. Even though I’ve moved a bit farther from the beach, I still live close enough to visit regularly. My favorite thing to do there is walk around the pier and listen to local musicians. I personally play the piano and guitar. I have a little shipoo named Baxter and I love to bring him down to the town of Dunedin where there are huge walking and bike trails, local shops, and amazing food. I‘m super involved in my community, whether it be through fundraising efforts or direct volunteer work. My favorite organization to volunteer with is Give Kids the World in Orlando, which is an affiliate of the Make a Wish Foundation. I got involved with Blue Planet through Instagram, and I instantly fell in love with them! I like classic aviator style sunglasses, and my favorite has to be the Amador collection. The bamboo style frames are perfect for a day on the beach. I love that Blue Planet has the same message that I instill into my every day life - that everyone deserves to experience this world to the fullest and most beautiful. I have seen the damage done to my neighborhood beaches due to commercialization and tourism, and I know firsthand how important it is to use sustainable and recyclable materials wherever possible.
